Journalist Yasser Rizk revealed the details of the assassination attempt on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on June 26, 2013, when Sisi was Egypt's defense minister, ahead of the June 30 revolution that toppled the Brotherhood. Al-Masri was then uncovered by a Sisi associate, and a decision was made to send a special forces brigade to protect Egyptian army commanders.

Rizk said in an interview with the program "on my responsibility" on the channel echoing the country, with the media Ahmed Moussa, that Sisi was subjected to several assassination attempts, adding that those attempts were aimed at overthrowing the state.

He added that Sisi had put his head on his palm twice during the January 25, 2011 revolution, where he was then a member of the military council.If the revolution did not succeed, Sisi and all members of the military council would have been tried, and the second time was on the revolution of June 30, 2013.
