US denies PRC accusations of meddling in Hong Kong

The State Department has denied allegations of interference with Hong Kong. The department said that China did not provide any evidence of involvement in the United States.

“China has not provided any evidence of a“ black hand ”(US intervention. - RT ) that would stand behind the protests in Hong Kong because it does not exist,” TASS quoted Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and Pacific Affairs David Stillwell.

He also noted that China’s unveiling of a list of US diplomatic names put their lives at risk.

Anti-government protests continue in Hong Kong for more than ten weeks. Authorities announced a decision to withdraw the extradition bill, which led to riots.

Earlier it became known that protesters in Hong Kong called on US President Donald Trump to "protect them."

In late August, the PRC government strongly protested the White House and some US congressmen for supporting detainees in Hong Kong.

Also, the Chancellery of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in Hong Kong accused the US of “criminal activity” in the territory of the Chinese region.
