The budget for 2020 has been negotiated by the government, S and MP, as well as the cooperation parties C and L, which, according to the experts, will be somewhat widespread. High-income earners have reason to rejoice in the new budget. Seniors and rural residents also benefit and receive more money in the wallet. Men make up the largest group of winners.

The major reform is the elimination of the value-added tax, ie for those who have an annual salary or fees over SEK 703,000. However, this only affects 345,000 people who, on average, receive a tax reduction of SEK 17,700 per year, according to the Ministry of Finance.

"In my world, losers are people who actually get less in the wallet"

In addition to the income tax, pensioners also receive reduced tax.

- It is primarily the pensioners who have the lowest pensions and the high-income earners who, thanks to the delayed assessment tax, get more in the wallet. At most, we talk about SEK 1,300 for the pensioners who have the worst, says Arturo Arques, private economist at Swedbank, and continues:

- Play with the idea that you have SEK 75,000 in monthly income, then we are talking about SEK 1200 more a month in the depreciated tax.

So are there any losers on the budget according to Arturo Arques?

- Not really in my world, losers are people who actually get less money in the wallet.

"Long lived in the best of worlds"

According to Arturo Arques, the size of the wallet is governed by above all three things:

The first is the business cycle, things are going well in our world, it is usually going well for Sweden, which is a small export-dependent country. The second is, of course, what we are talking about today. Fiscal policy has a major impact. Finally, we have the Riksbank's monetary policy, which also affects, he says and continues:

- Households have lived in the best of worlds for quite some time. We have had a good income trend, while at the same time we have received higher contributions and lower taxes. As a cream on the mash, we have had lower interest rates, which has led many to see their housing costs fall. The vast majority of households have had a very good time.

"If you give to those who are already well off, it usually leads to increased savings"

Much indicates that we are heading into a period where the economy is lower. When asked what groups can help if the economy is stalling, Arturo Arques answers:

- Giving more money to pensioners often comes back in the form of increased consumption. If you give more to those who already have a good time, it usually leads to increased savings. At least that's what we see in our studies.
