On the sidelines of its participation in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Qatar Charity organizes a side discussion workshop on the role of sport in protecting and empowering refugees and displaced persons.

The workshop will be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York in cooperation with Qatar Fund for Development and a number of international humanitarian organizations. It will also sign a number of cooperation and partnership agreements with UN agencies.

Workshop discussion
Organized by Qatar Charity in collaboration with the Qatar Fund for Development, UNHCR, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the German International Development Agency (IDA) and Saif the Dream, the side-event workshop will present a series of working papers on the transition to sport in conflict-torn societies. The global framework for promoting sport for development and peace will be reviewed, along with perspectives and perspectives that sport can create for a more dignified life for refugees and displaced persons, and the challenges to using sport as a tool for development.

Cooperation Agreements
At the end of the workshop, Qatar Charity will sign a series of cooperation agreements with a number of UN agencies and organizations, including an agreement with the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), as well as a framework agreement with UNICEF.
