Wiersum was liquidated on Wednesday morning in the Amsterdam neighborhood of Buitenveldert. The 44-year-old lawyer was shot by a young man just after 7.30 in the morning.

The husband and father lived in Buitenveldert and was attacked near his home. Despite the massive deployment of emergency services, he died on the spot.
