The French volleyball players have paid the luxury of beating Italy, Olympic vice champion in 2016 in Rio, 3 sets to 1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22) for their last match of the 1st round of Euro-2019, Wednesday in Montpellier.
With this victory, the French finish at the top of their group with five successes in as many meetings. They will face Finland or Macedonia for a round of 8 in their reach on Saturday night in Nantes (19:30), before perhaps returning to Italy in the quarter-final Tuesday night (20:45).
