Tunis (AFP) The law professor Kaïs Saïed has won the first round of the presidential election in Tunisia. The 61-year-old independent candidate now plays in the run-off against the imprisoned media mogul Nabil Karoui, who came in second, as the electoral office announced on Tuesday. Karoui had been detained only a few days before the election campaign on suspicion of money laundering and tax evasion.
