In the event of the final adoption of the amendments from January 1, 2021, employers will keep paper books on paper only for those employees who, by the end of 2020, will submit an application.

The rest will be handed over labor books, and all new information will be stored exclusively in electronic form, the State Duma explained.

It is expected that the implementation of the initiative will save the business from unnecessary labor costs, and for employees will minimize the risk of losing information about experience.

As the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin noted, about 60 million employees and 8.4 million business entities will be affected by the changes.

He emphasized that the transition would be voluntary and gradual.

Earlier, the head of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, Valery Ryazansky, in an interview with the NSN, commented on reports that the Pension Fund had already 100% digitized the work books of Russians.
