The State Department called on Maduro to negotiate with Guaido

The State Department said the United States continues to support the "legal interim president" of Venezuela Guaido.

“Any serious negotiations should be between the former regime and interim president Guaido. As we have repeatedly said, US sanctions will not be lifted until Maduro leaves, ”the US Foreign Ministry said.

Also in Washington, it was announced that the United States and its allies had activated the Inter-American Mutual Assistance Treaty (Rio Pact) in connection with the situation in Venezuela.
