“The positions of Russia and Israel, the peoples of our countries are the same: we consider completely unacceptable any attempts to review the outcome of the war, distort the truth, justify fascism and its minions,” TASS quoted Putin as saying.

He noted the importance of transmitting “the truth about the terrible tragedy of the Holocaust” to “next generations” in order to “prevent the growth in the modern world of anti-Semitism, xenophobia, religious and racial intolerance.”

Putin also said that almost two million Russian-speaking citizens live in Israel. According to him, in Russia, Israel is considered a Russian-speaking state.
