During the Sharjah Child Safety Forum, organized by the Child Safety Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Major General Saif Al-Zari Al-Shamsi, called for the establishment of a center or institution that brings all departments responsible for child protection under one roof to address all social issues. Which concern the child, and develop solutions to the challenges that surround him, to ensure a safe and stable life in all circumstances.

He stressed that the police have launched many initiatives to protect children, but they need to develop and modernize in line with developments at the level of the state, and translated into many languages, mostly in Arabic, in order to ensure access to the largest category of residents in the emirate.

On the responsibility of the media, Shamsi said: «Some of the inappropriate images of children, which deal with the media, is the result of the pursuit of some journalists behind the scoop, while recognizing the importance of speed in the press, and innocence of journalists' motives, but must pay attention to the rights of individuals and communities when Dissemination of news, the task of the journalist to balance well between the interest of his institution and the interest of his community and home ».

The Director of Juvenile Prosecution in Sharjah Prosecution, Dr. Walid Al Hammadi, pointed out that the laws and legislations in the UAE respect the rights of the child, and stipulated the confidentiality of the trial sessions for children, noting the existence of initiatives from the Public Prosecution on the importance of maintaining the safety of children, stressing the need for journalists to adhere to the foundations of the laws , Which is not to disclose or publish anything related to violation of the privacy of the child, so as not to be accountable to the law, as it is a crime punishable by law.
