Abdul Rahman Abdul Latif, the leader of a volunteer team to build, said that the idea of ​​the Tabkha and Hikayah initiative was born out of women volunteers. The idea was well received by everyone, as it targeted displaced women in the city, especially from Aleppo, Damascus, Deir Ezzor and Homs governorates. Abdul Rahman pointed out that the objectives of the initiative are to strengthen the ties of intimacy and love between resident and displaced women, and to highlight the role of women in the Syrian revolution, and to identify the most famous cooks in each city and tell the customs and traditions of each.

Memories of displacement
In one of the sessions, Umm Karmo, a 50-year-old displaced woman from Aleppo, was the focus of attention of the female audience. She said that Aleppo is famous for its castle in the middle of the old city.

Regarding the peaceful movement in Aleppo, Um Karmo spoke about how Aleppo men participated in the demonstrations and later as an aid to the opposition fighters, during the start of armed action against the Syrian regime in the city.

Um Karmo tells Al Jazeera Net that she took part in the invitation when she was invited to leave the atmosphere of isolation and grief due to the displacement of her city Aleppo and leave behind memories in her home.

Um Mohammed recalls how the Syrian regime began erecting roadblocks with the beginning of the peaceful movement in Homs in 2011, which later became known as the “capital of the revolution”.
