Saudi Arabia has shut down a pipeline to transport crude oil to Bahrain after attacks on two Saudi oil facilities, trade sources said on Monday.

One source said the pipeline, which carries between 220,000 and 230,000 barrels per day (bpd) of light Arab crude from state-owned Saudi Aramco to Bapco Bahrain, was shut down after Saturday's attack, which cut production mainly from light grades.

The sources said that Bapco is working to provide ships to transport about two million barrels of Saudi crude after the closure of the pipeline.

The attacks, adopted by the Houthi group, caused a sharp drop in world oil supplies. Saudi Arabia said the attacks had halted an estimated 5.7 million barrels of oil, or about 50 percent of Aramco's output.

Meanwhile, two sources familiar with Aramco's operations said it could take months for the company to fully return to normal oil production.
