A statement on the agency’s website indicated that the evidence that the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague “completely refused” Moscow to reconsider decisions regarding the jurisdiction and liability of Russia in PrivatBank’s lawsuit is distorted.

“On September 12, 2019, the international arbitration tribunal agreed to consider Russia's arguments about the illegal acquisition of assets in Crimea by PrivatBank,” the department said.

It is stated that the arbitrators allowed the Russian side to provide evidence that the bank, which was under the control of Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky, “was an illegal owner of property that, according to the plaintiff, was expropriated”.

PrivatBank said earlier that the court refused to Russia to review the jurisdiction of the claim.
