Twelve of the stand's twenty meters have been completed, and construction manager Viktor Wadelius hopes to mount the spiers before winter. The work is demanding, not only because it is carried out more than a hundred meters above the ground.

- What we are going to take down is ten meters high, four meters wide and weighs 4.2 tons. It is only when you get it down on the ground that people understand how big it is, I think, he says.

"A unique place"

He stands on a scaffolding 52 meters above the ground and shows us into a door that has been sawn up in the church roof. From here, there are a further 174 steps up to the 20 meter high scaffolding. Visitors may not go higher than this, but Viktor has been at the foot of the spire.
- It is a unique place to be and a wonderful feeling to see the whole city from one place, says Viktor Wadelius.

Sweden's highest lifting crane

To get the material down from the almost 119 meter high tower, Sweden's highest freestanding lifting crane is used.

On Monday, the work stopped because of harsh winds. The end date for the renovation has not been determined and depends on how much of the membrane is installed before the winter break.
