It does not smell freshly baked when you step into the dog bakery in Vasastan, even though the refrigerator counter is filled with fine pastries, muffins, vacuum cleaners and chocolate balls. But the ingredients are neither sugar nor chocolate, instead the base is flour and water mixed with different flavors.

- It looks like chocolate and tastes so, but of course it is not real chocolate because dogs cannot tolerate it, says Nicoletta Andersson, who has just opened the doors to Stockholm's first dog bakery.

But there is already a dog cafe here in town?

- Yes, but there is the housekeeper and maths who can take the dog with them when they snack. At a dog bakery, only coffee for dogs is offered.

The idea was hatched when her pug Charlie stitched the bag. When someone from the family gets sick, you are always spoiled with freshly baked buns. So why wouldn't Charlie even be that.

- I tried to find a few different pastries for her, then it turned out that there are lots of dog bakeries in the US, so there I got lots of inspiration.
