In Sweden as a whole, bicycle helmet use is increasing among adults and children. According to NTF, it is at 48 percent among adults and at 61 percent among children under 15. But in Värmland, the figure is 29 percent among adults and 47 percent among children. Anders Karborg, head of NTF Värmland, believes that there are several reasons why usage is lower in Värmland.

- Firstly, we have less money for education in schools - there are regions that receive significantly more money. Then there is a tendency we see that in municipalities where the level of education among adults is higher, more people choose to wear bicycle helmets.

From NTF, one wishes to be able to receive funds to enter the schools and educate children and young people from an early age.

- Helmet is a cheap life insurance, so I wish that more people would choose to wear it, says Anders Kalborg.
