The second misdemeanor court in Ras Al Khaimah, today tried the case of six people of Arab and Asian nationalities accused of 18 robberies of houses and villas under construction in Ras Al Khaimah, where they stole cables and electrical and metal wires from sites under construction.

The prosecution accused five Arab nationals of stealing cables and electrical wires from villas and residential houses under construction in various areas of Ras Al Khaimah, and selling them to scrap workshops in kilos, and the prosecution accused the sixth defendant of Asian nationality to buy stolen cables from the defendants.

The defendants all denied the charges against them in the indictment, but the second defendant surprised his fellow defendants in the dock by confessing them before the court, where he confirmed that he participated in one robbery last July with the rest of the defendants, which shocked the defendants after their confession. , Although they deny the crime of theft at all stages of the investigation.

The first defendant denounced the confession of the second defendant, saying that he was driving his car in Al Dhait area in Ras Al Khaimah, accompanied by some defendants, who saw a light truck. She steals electrical cables during the night and her driver runs away quickly leaving a few cables on the ground.

He explained that he took the cables in the belief that they are anonymous, pointing out that the police patrols stopped his vehicle and confiscated the seized quantities and searched his house and sources of equipment and tools for cutting and referred to the Public Prosecution on charges of carrying out 18 robberies.

The second defendant confessed that he committed one robbery with the first, third and fourth defendant, and that he knew nothing about the other thefts that took place in the residential villas under construction. In the vehicle of the first accused as stated in the indictment, the fourth and fifth defendant denied the charges against them, while the sixth Asian national confessed to buying electricity cables from a scrap shop without knowing it was stolen, and denied knowing the rest of the defendants or participating in the robbery they carried out

For his part, the defense lawyer asked one of the defendants from the court in all the cases of thefts committed by his client and the defendants and the 18 cases and referred to the first misdemeanor court as related cases with each of them, pointing out that the consideration of cases in several judicial departments On the other hand, the court set 28 this month as the date for the sentencing of the defendants in two of the 18 cases.
