The remaining 600,000 Rohingyas in Burma live under the threat of " genocide ". This is what a United Nations commission of inquiry says. The country is doing nothing to prevent further atrocities against the Muslim minority persecuted by the army. The already deplorable situation would have deteriorated even further.

From our correspondent in Geneva , Jérémie Lanche

This is not the first time that the term genocide has been used by the UN about Burma. This time, the United Nations gives a little more detail on human rights violations against the Rohingya. Due to restrictions imposed by the military, civilians can not move freely or obtain humanitarian assistance. Many can no longer feed themselves. The torture of those suspected of helping the rebels is becoming widespread and rapes committed by the armed forces are frequent.

In these circumstances, it is impossible for the 700,000 refugees who have won Bangladesh to return to Burma . The United Nations has compiled a list of about 100 people who may be involved in crimes of genocide and against humanity. It has been transmitted to the new independent UN mechanism on Burma. He is the one who must prepare the legal ground for a possible trial of the perpetrators of crimes against the Rohingya, may be before the International Court of Justice.

Except that Burma does not want to hear about it. The country systematically rejects the findings of UN investigators. And he has already rejected any jurisdiction at the International Criminal Court that has seized the Burmese case.
