by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 16 September 2019The deadline for the binding offer of Ferrovie dello Stato for Alitalia has been postponed to 15 October. The government has granted a postponement to give the consortium more time to finalize the plan to relaunch the airline.

The request was initiated by the Extraordinary Commissioners Alitalia, Daniele Discepolo, Enrico Laghi and Stefano Paleari, and the Minister of Economic Development Stefano Patuanelli authorized the extension until October 15 of the deadline for the presentation of the binding and final offer for Alitalia putting in place the sixth extension since the company is under extraordinary administration.

This is to allow the buyer consortium composed of the head of Ferrovie dello Stato, Atlantia, Delta and Mef to define the details of the airline's relaunch plan.

Ferrovie dello Stato should have 35% of the new Alitalia. Another 35% would go to Atlantia. The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), should have a 15% stake while the American Delta Airlines should acquire 10-15%.
