The National Elections Commission issued 17 ultimatums against candidates who committed irregularities in their propaganda campaigns and election programs, under Article 59 of the executive instructions for the 2019 National Assembly elections.

Since the beginning of the campaigns of the candidates on 8 September 2019 and until yesterday, the National Elections Commission issued warnings based on the violations committed by the UAE committees, the body responsible for monitoring the campaigns and election programs of the candidates. Three warnings were issued against candidates in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Alerts against candidates in the Emirate of Dubai, eight warnings against candidates in the Emirate of Sharjah, one warning against a candidate in Ajman and one warning against a candidate in Ras Al Khaimah, while no warnings were issued against candidates in Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain.

The National Election Commission confirmed that it is working on the continuous monitoring and follow-up of all propaganda campaigns, calling on all candidates to abide by the executive instructions for the elections of the Federal National Council 2019, and to work in accordance with the rules and conditions governing the work of propaganda campaigns and electoral programs for candidates that have been approved by the committees of the UAE, and not to practice Activities not approved in the electoral programs, indicating that this is a legal offense, which may amount to the cancellation of the candidacy application and prevent the candidate from continuing his electoral program.
