KHARTOUM (Reuters) - Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk on Sunday dismissed Ismail Issaoui from his post as director-general of the Sudan Broadcasting Corporation.

He directed the decision issued by the Sudanese Prime Minister, the Ministries of Culture and Information (General Authority for Radio and Television), Labor and Social Development, and other stakeholders to take action to implement the decision.

Ibrahim Al-Buzai has been appointed as the General Director of the General Authority for Radio and Television, replacing Issawi.

The dismissal of Issawi comes at a time when a wide spectrum of the Sudanese street demanding the government of Hamdouk to implement immediate reforms on the civil service and all sectors affected by the policies of the ousted regime of President Omar al-Bashir, led by the media.

A film broadcast on state television during the December revolution caused anger in the Sudanese street, where the television broadcasted a series of episodes of "Dark Bats," which included what was described as "abuses of the revolution, and sent bogus overtones and accusations against the demonstrators in the sit-in yard."
