Rome (AP) - In coordination with the Italian authorities, the rescue vessel "Ocean Viking" has brought 82 boat people to the port of Lampedusa Island. The disembarkation with Coast Guard boats began at night, by mid-morning most of the men, women, and children had left the ship, which remained at anchor off the harbor. The sea rescue center in Rome had instructed the "Ocean Viking" operated by SOS Méditerranée and Doctors Without Borders on Saturday to operate Lampedusa as a safe haven.
