The weekend ended with many clashes in different parts of the former British colony, despite the Mid-Autumn Festival's party atmosphere.

The demonstration that had not been authorized nevertheless took place this Sunday, September 15, with tens of thousands of people. It has degenerated into violent confrontations.

In response to the Molotov cocktails and bricks thrown by the protesters , the police deployed their water cannons. It also fired tear gas in the immediate vicinity of government buildings and the headquarters of the People's Liberation Army.

No arrest

After a few hours of confrontation at the end of the day in the center of Hong Kong Island , the protesters had managed to disperse without the police managing to stop any. Hundreds of police in riot gear then paraded on some of the main streets, escorted by water cannons and armored vehicles, but without any more protesters to dismiss.

" I was just walking the streets and I did not know exactly what was going on, " said a school teacher who quietly followed a procession of police officers to Causeway Bay. There were a lot of people, it's like that every week now, every Sunday, every Saturday . "

When asked if the Hong Kong people continue to support the protest movement despite the announcement of the withdrawal of the bill, the man is affirmative. " Yes absolutely, so far, I think most people in Hong Kong are very supportive and they continue to support this revolution . Revolution or not, support for this movement remains intact.
