The seventh edition of the Dohuk International Film Festival was launched in the city of Dohuk in the Kurdistan region of Iraq with the participation of more than 100 films.

The festival witnessed the participation of actors, directors and filmmakers from all continents of the world competed for its awards.

Kurdish film director Ibrahim Salman noted that the festival is an important step towards the development of what is Kurdish cinema, considering that such festivals are a feasible opportunity in the exchange of experiences among cinema professionals from all countries and diverse cultures.

Arab filmmakers from Egypt, Tunisia, Palestine, Syria, Algeria and other Arab countries participated in the Dohuk festival with their films.

This edition of the festival was characterized by its celebration of Arab cinema, which seems to have a direct impact on Kurdish cinema, which is trying to take advantage of this interaction to reach global.
