- Hovmantorp in Lessebo Municipality are the first to receive the new four-compartment vessels, says Johanna Palm, project manager for the new four-compartment system.

Instead of the homeowners themselves going to the recycling station with packaging, they should now instead be able to sort into two large garbage cans with eight compartments on their site.

In addition to packaging, magazines, light sources and batteries will also be collected.

In the clip above you can see how the two waste containers work.

More expensive fee

In connection with the introduction of the new vessels, the fee is increased by about SEK 500 per year. The new fee is also environmental management, so it is cheaper to accept the four-compartment system than to have a container for unsorted waste.

- The system that is best for the environment is awarded. A villa subscription for four-bay systems costs Lessebo municipality SEK 2,882 per year and a subscription for unsorted waste SEK 3700, says Johanna Palm.

How big has the interest been?

- About 95 percent of all villas in Lessebo municipality have chosen quad compartments, which is great fun.

The system will be introduced in Lessebo, Markaryd, Tingsryds, Växjö and Älmhults municipality and the project will continue until 2021.
