The intimate and exclusive pre-wedding party of Manuel Valls and Susana Gallardo: Isabel Preysler and Mario Vargas Llosa, among the guests

There is something romantic in two lovers looking at the sky, even if they do it on their wedding day for fear of hurricane rains. Manuel Valls (57 years old) and Susana Gallardo (54) have spent the entire week in Menorca, an island they came to last Monday to marry this Saturday, fearing that the DANA that has hit the Balearic Islands will annoy their dream bond. In the end, the politician and the millionaire heiress have been able to marry on the first sunny day after the cold drop that flooded areas of the island a few days ago. Everyone knows that "wet girlfriend, lucky girlfriend" is the big lie that nobody believes. At the moment of truth, no matter how rich you are, good weather is the best wedding gift.

Valls and Gallardo have been civilly married on Saturday at her estate in Binidalí, Mahón, with one eye on the sky in case the thing was twisted and the other in the hundred guests who have traveled to the island to accompany them during the three days that the celebrations have lasted.

The couple has married on the quieter island of the Balearic Islands, taking care of the details with maximum discretion because they both wanted an intimate bond, with family and close friends, among which are the flower and cream of the Catalan bourgeoisie, circle in the that the couple was accepted from the first moment. Among those guests were Isabel Preysler and her boyfriend, Mario Vargas Llosa; the cook and presenter of the television program Masterchef, Samantha Vallejo-Nágera; Catalan businessmen like José Creuheras, president of Grupo Planeta, and his wife, Columna Martí; Felix Revuelta, owner of Naturhouse; and French politicians, friends and colleagues from Valls when he was Prime Minister of the French country. Those who have not been invited, as Manuel Valls himself has already said, have been Albert Rivera and Malú.

The Binidalí estate in which this link between power (of him as a politician) and money (of her as the heiress of Almirall laboratories, with a fortune of about 600 million) has been held is in the municipality of Mahón and It consists of a plot of 10 hectares in one of the most privileged places in Menorca. The property has a main house with three floors, about 570 square meters, and two other 'casitas' of 220 and 106 square meters. The civil ceremony and the party have been held in the large garden of the farm, next to the pool of 45 square meters.

Those in charge of preparing the wedding were the event designer Toni Seguí and the company La Puta Suegra. I followed three years ago the link of Gabriela, Gallardo's daughter, with the Turkish businessman Ediz Elhalef. La Puta Suegra is a well-known company in this sector and they were responsible for the wedding of Sergio Ramos and Pilar Rubio; and that of Claudia Creuheras, daughter of the president of Grupo Planeta y Atresmedia, and Álvaro Gandarias.

The night before, Valls and Gallardo offered a pre-cooked cocktail at the Bodegas de Binifadet, in the municipality of Ses Barraques. The evening was attended by a hundred guests, who were already on the island, most of them staying in different luxury hotels. The couple arrived at the cocktail in a mini black convertible driven by the groom, dressed in beige pants and white shirt in conjunction with her long summer dress.

After the ceremony and dinner-party on Saturday, the celebrations will continue tomorrow Sunday with a meal at the Nautical Club of Binisafúa, one of the favorite places of Valls and Gallardo in Menorca, with a menu focused on Mediterranean cuisine.

The former French prime minister and current councilor of the Barcelona City Council and the heiress of the Almirall laboratories met in July last year, when he was invited to a friend's house in Menorca. The couple tried in vain to secretly carry their crush and just a month later the magazine 'Paris Match' published their romance, after being photographed together in Marbella. In October they decided to make their courtship public and in May of this year they announced their wedding.

This is the third marriage for Valls. He was previously married to teacher Nathalie Soulié, mother of her four children (Benjamin, Ugo and the twins Joachim and Alice), and violinist Anne Gravoin, from whom she separated in April 2018, after eight years together, only three months before meeting his new wife.

Susana Gallardo was married 30 years with Alberto Palatchi, former president of Pronovias and one of the richest men in Spain. Together they had three children (Gabriela, Alberto and Marta) and they separated in 2016.
