TEHRAN (Reuters) - US sanctions could not prevent Tehran from exporting its oil and failed to justify selling Iranian oil, Iranian Oil Minister Begin Zanganeh said.

He said in a speech during the signing of the contract to expand the Bilal gas field, that the US sanctions did not affect the development of Iran's oil industry, and that his country continues its oil industry in the field of refinery and oil refining and petrochemicals very quickly.

Zanganeh stressed that Iran's efforts to sell oil continue, without disclosing details of these measures to prevent enemies from taking advantage of them.

Tehran has signed an agreement to expand the Bilal gas field, located in the eastern part of the South Pars field, with Iran's Petrobars worth $ 440 million.

"This contract and others to come show that we are working despite the sanctions. The sanctions have not stopped us, we are working," he said.

But the International Energy Agency said in a report last Thursday that Iran's oil production in August fell to the lowest level in 30 years.

Iran's monthly oil production fell by 40,000 bpd to an average of 2.19 million bpd in August, the IEA said in its monthly report.

According to the IAEA report, the decline in production fell on exports - which fell by 170 thousand barrels per day in August - to 200 thousand barrels.
