The war media of the retired Libyan brigade Khalifa Hifter announced the death of three of the most prominent military commanders of his forces, in an aerial bombardment of the forces of the Government of National Accord on the axis of fighting south of the capital Tripoli.

A military source said that among the dead was the commander of the ninth brigade Tarhuna, Colonel Abdul Wahab al-Maqri, who was targeted by a car bombed by a drone.

On its official Facebook page, Hifter's forces called Colonel Abdel-Wahab al-Maqri, commander of the 9th Brigade, Tarhuna, Captain Mohsen al-Kani, the supporting force, and soldier Abdul-Azim al-Kani.

Earlier on Friday, al-Wefaq forces announced the destruction of the main operating room of Hifter's forces at the Jafra air base (center), and the killing of six foreign officers who were present there.

Government forces of the National Accord have made field progress on Hifter's forces in the fighting axes south of the capital Tripoli.

Al-Jazeera correspondent quoted a military source as saying that Hifter's air force did not participate in combat operations south of the capital, which enabled Al-Wefaq forces to take control of new positions in the axes of Ain Zara and Khalat Al Furjan.

Al-Wefaq spokesman Mohammed Qanunu confirmed that the air force targeted al-Jafra military base belonging to Hifter forces on Thursday night, which resulted in the destruction of anti-al-Qaeda ground and a number of vehicles.
