One of those who has been with us for all 25 years is the Gotlander Stefan Hansson, who sells sheep furnishings.

- Unfortunately, there have been fewer people, in the beginning when we started there were lots, but then it has become fewer. But of course we hope that many will come, he says during Friday afternoon when the event started with an exhibition.

International judges

There are judges from Australia and the Netherlands.

At the baggage auction that takes place on Saturday, some 70 baggies are reported. It's about the Finull, Dorper, Blue Texel, Texel, Suffolk and Dorset breeds. For the less familiar one can think about what the differences are, but for an untrained eye it is not difficult to see differences.

- We have producers and buyers who come in from Ystad to Skellefteå, says Hanna Forsberg, who is chairman of Östgöta lamb.

Several different breeds

The Finullen has a neater and thinner appearance, while the Texel is more compact and muscular and the Suffolk is distinguished by its long swallowing ears and black legs.

The event naturally attracts lamb producers and people in the industry, but also appeals to the public who want to learn more about sheep or just find out what a good baggage looks like.
