Christian Democrats:

There are far more important societal problems to address than Sunday closed at Systembolaget. We think it works well as it does today and sees no reason to rethink our position, says Michael Anefur (KD), member of the Social Committee.

What risks do you see?

- All research shows that as accessibility increases, alcohol damage and addiction problems also increase.

Green Party:

- We do not propose such a proposal. The aim of alcohol policy is to limit total alcohol consumption, which the Environmental Party thinks is good. We safeguard the functioning of Systembolaget and believe that accessibility is sufficient as it is, says Pernilla Stålhammar, member of the Environment Party responsible for alcohol policy.

Social Democrats:

- The service level is already high and Systembolaget has a strong popularity and customer satisfaction and it is not relevant to introduce the Sunday opening. Opening hours are governed by the Riksdag and are based on the fact that we weigh a high level of service by limiting abuse, crime and negative public health effects, says Kristina Nilsson (S), Vice Chairman of the Riksdag's Social Committee.

What risks do you see?

- That the violence in society is increasing, that people who already drink too much today would drink even more. Therefore, one must be careful if one is to greatly increase access to alcohol even on Sundays.

Center Party:

- Sunday opening is not a priority issue, but in a couple of weeks we will have a party meeting where the issue will be discussed and there may be new positions. We have long advocated farm sales and that it will be easier for farmers to become a system company representative.

What risks do you see?

- The risks we see are the same ones discussed in the debate, that is, public health aspects.

Left:

- We feel that the play is irresponsible and populist, but at the same time strange as few Swedes demand Sunday openings. It feels like an experimental balloon and that the next proposal from the Moderates will be to allow alcohol sales in the grocery stores, says Karin Rågsjö, health policy spokesperson for the Left Party.

What risks do you see?

- The easier it is to get alcohol, the more damage it will be. The story is full of examples of not only affecting the individual but also their relatives. There are many children growing up in environments where parents are affected by alcohol.
