Last year, 2,246 moose were awarded in Östergötland. This year it is about 200 fewer, 2050 moose. But at the same time, only 1818 moose were felled last year, which means the allocation was higher than the shooting.
In Västmanland this year there are a record number of license areas that will be without an allocation, but this is not the case in the county.
Conscious reduction- This is because they have not reported the number of felled moose, but it does not look like that in Östergötland, says Mia Kjällander, game manager on the Östergötland County Administrative Board.
Since 2012, the moose strain has been halved.
- It is actually a deliberate reduction because it is such a big forest damage, says Mia Kjällander.
At the same time, she emphasizes that the forest damage is due to all clover game, not just moose.
