The confirmation camp, or "gay camp" as some of the participants now call it, took place this summer in Norrbotten.

One of the confirmation priest's message was that homosexuality was a sin that entered the Garden of Eden with evil and that they loved the sinners, but not the sin.

"Getting to Hell"

The confirmation participants responded strongly to their statements on the lessons and one of them asked:

"If God does not like homosexuals, why then has God created homosexuals?"

“The gays came with the evil and God thought it is a shame to have same-sex or transsexual relationships and you go to hell for it. God does not think it should be so, " answered the confirmation priest, who also judged the participants who were critical of them.

“You might think this is really boring and why I have to chat. Then you should know that it is the devil that makes you think so. "

Not acceptable

Now about a dozen parents have reported the priest to the judicial chapter because they consider the statements to be completely unfair and in conflict with the Luleå diocese's core values, Codex ethicus.

- This is very unfortunate and absolutely not acceptable, if there is truth in the information in the notification. In this case, we must ensure that this does not happen again, says Bishop Åsa Nyström.

- God loves and everyone should meet with respect and warmth, regardless of what the priest himself thinks and of course the same applies to the same-sex couples. We should be welcoming to everyone, says the bishop.

Can be unscrewed

The judicial chapter will now investigate what happened during this summer's confirmation camp

- After all, we have a pretty clear reprimand order where the lowest degree is a written reminder, then a probationary period of three years will come and then what we call the termination will be deprived of the clergy or deacon office

SVT Nyheter has sought the confirmation priest for a comment, but fails to reach them.
