14 days in prison, 250 hours of community service, one year's supervision and a fine of $ 30,000 - the equivalent of about SEK 290,000. It became the punishment for actress Felicity Huffman, best known from the television series "Desperate housewives," after she mutated elite schools in the United States. The verdict was announced during a Friday afternoon, local time, in a Boston court. It reports, among other things, CNN and the news agency AP.

"I'm deeply ashamed of what I've done," Huffman told the jury according to CNN, and continued:

- In the end, I had a choice. I could have said no.

Part of a big bribe

In April this year, Huffman went out on her own and admitted that she paid SEK 15,000 to an organization for help in falsifying her daughter's college exam results. Felicity Huffman wanted to make it easier for her daughter to enter America's most reputable college.

Huffman is not the only one to bribe elite schools in the United States - several parents are charged in the big hangout with famous Hollywood actors and high-ranking executives. However, Huffman is the first of the parents to have been convicted in this case, according to AP.
