The Google Earth user should have looked around the service's satellite imagery over the city, and then discovered a silhouette from a car in a lake. To make sure of the discovery, the person should have taken the help of a friend, who with the drones could confirm that the car was there.
Once the police recovered the vehicle, they found that it belonged to William Moldts, whose remains were found in the wreck.
