Especially known as “hostile takeover” for companies, in 1989 when Japan was in a bubble economy, it became the largest shareholder of Koito Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a major auto parts manufacturer, and strengthened management interventions such as the appointment of officers .

Pickens's method, which had already been acquired in the United States, is to make profits by buying the stocks that he bought up at a high price by partner companies and related parties, and from the color of American dollar bills etc. It was also called “Green Mailer”.
