Citizen, Abdullah Al-Sabaa Al-Marri, has completed his marriage contract in the Emirates Towers, within three minutes, pointing out that he paid a dowry to the bride worth only 500 dirhams, noting that the bride's father did not exaggerate in asking for the dowry.

Al-Marri told Emirates Today that he preferred to complete the marriage contract electronically, rather than the traditional method, because it takes less time and requires easier procedures, as well as lifting the embarrassment and tension of the bride when witnessing the marriage in the presence of others.

He explained the method of contracting the Koran electronically, noting that he came with his bride, their families and witnesses to the Service Center 1 in the Emirates Towers, and communicated with the authorized (Al-Mutawa) via the robot.

He added: «I was the first bridegroom among my friends who hold his wedding electronically», stressing that he was impressed with the idea very much when put forward by the father of his bride, «because it lifted embarrassment about her during the marriage». He called on those wishing to marry to experience this experience, and benefit from the service of electronic contracts, because of the speed, ease and privacy it offers to those wishing to marry.

Al-Marri pointed out that the father of the bride did not cost him a high dowry, preferring to be symbolic, «because the basis on which he made sure that the house is based on intangible considerations, despite the existence of other costs of marriage, which can not be exceeded, whether from a ballroom, Or travel expenses, or other supplies. ”

Six years ago, the Ministry of Justice launched the e-Marriage service. Those wishing to marry or divorce can benefit from the service by booking an electronic appointment with a legal official, who is equipped with a laptop, ID card reader, electronic signature device and printer.

The authorized person to write the marriage contract electronically after filling the data of the groom and the bride and guardian and witnesses, and determine the dowry and the end of the dowry, and pay the fees of the contract electronically, without the trouble of the presence of the stakeholders to the headquarters of the Islamic courts. According to the Ministry of Justice, since its launch at the beginning of 2013, thousands of marriages between citizens and couples of different nationalities have been registered as part of this service.
