The CNN reports this, stating that Pompeo would also hold the post of head of US diplomacy. If this were the case, Pompey would be the second in US history to hold the two positions simultaneously, after Henry Kissinger, who was President Nixon's national security advisor when he was appointed Secretary of State in 1973.
