The bill on pension reform will be "known before the municipal," said Thursday the High Commissioner Jean-Paul Delevoye, satisfied with the "very clear timetable" presented the same day by the Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe.

"We have a very clear timetable, the law will be passed before the end of July 2020," he said at a conference at the Catholic University of Lille.

Earlier in the day, Mr Philippe had announced this goal, as well as a consultation with the social partners "until the beginning of December" and "citizen consultations" from the end of September to "the end of the year ".

"The project will be debated and will be known before the municipal," said Mr. Delevoye, saying the questions around this election was "a false debate."

"Since we have time, we will try to remove the unjustified concerns," he added.

"There are reflexes of concern that are manifested by social movements, which must be respected," he insisted.

A barely veiled reference to the strike very followed at the RATP Friday and Monday mobilization of lawyers, doctors and airline pilots. So many professions opposed to the disappearance of their pension plan within the future "universal system" wanted by Emmanuel Macron.

"There are solutions for each of the professions", with "transition times adapted to each case", wanted to reassure the high commissioner.

Mr. Delevoye also mentioned "accompanying measures that fuel the social acceptability" of the reform, including "not to jeopardize the economic equilibrium of the self-employed and the liberal professions".

The deputy (LREM) of the North Laurent Pietraszewski, organizer of the conference, however recalled in the introduction that "the closure of the special regimes was part of the campaign commitments" of the majority.

"We were not elected to defend rents of situation," he said.
