“From international issues, we focused on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, with emphasis on a Syrian settlement,” he told reporters.

The Minister noted that the military dialogue is developing well.

“Both sides expressed support for this kind of effort,” the Foreign Minister said.

He added that the Russian side is waiting for the leaders of Israel on the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War on May 9 on Red Square in 2020.

“And the Israeli leadership confirms its commitment to all those activities that are designed to perpetuate the memory of heroes,” Lavrov said.

Earlier, the representative of Israeli Prime Minister Evan Cohen said that one of the goals of Netanyahu’s visit to Russia is to discuss Iran’s presence “throughout the Middle East”, including in Syria.
