12 September 2019The search engine giant Google has agreed to pay 965 million euros to France and thus close two disputes that pitted it against the Paris tax authorities. "We have put an end to the tax and related disputes we have had in France for many years," Google said in a note released after the court hearing.

To report it is Bloomberg, explaining that the Californian giant of Mountain View, under fire in Europe for its fiscal policies, has reached a 500 million agreement to close a criminal investigation into an alleged tax fraud and signed a second agreement to pay others 465 million in back taxes.

The agreement was validated at a court hearing in Paris with the support of Bercy, the French Ministry of Finance. The transaction, accepted by Google France and Google Ireland, puts an end to the lawsuits for "aggravated tax evasion" initiated in 2015 and definitively eliminates the prospect of a trial for Google. The multinational company has a period of withdrawal from the ten-day agreement.
