After his indictment in the Mutuelles de Bretagne case, the president of the National Assembly is again weakened, and with him Emmanuel Macron. Even if the head of state has reaffirmed his confidence.

Richard Ferrand, it's not just anyone for Emmanuel Macron. He is one of the closest politicians to the President of the Republic, one of his earliest supporters. He is one of those he listens to. He is also someone who is appreciated by his wife Brigitte.

The mobilization of Macronie's leaders since the announcement of the indictment of the President of the National Assembly is revealing of this link. Even if on the side of the Elysee, one defends to protect it because it is a close one of the head of the State, one invokes the presumption of innocence and the double legitimacy of an elected man deputy by the French and Speaker of the Assembly by his peers knowingly.

The argument was visibly prepared to answer the question: that of Richard Ferrand's ability to maintain its function.

Still, this situation is politically delicate for a president who had made the moralization of political life a campaign promise. And especially for a president who tries to put his quinquennium on track by regaining the confidence of the French.

Protecting Richard Ferrand, if the pressure of opinion became stronger, could thwart Emmanuel Macron's efforts to improve his image.
