June 04, 2019 The unemployment rate recorded in Italy last April (10.2%) was lower only in Greece (18.5% in February) and Spain (13.8%). This was announced by Eurostat. Similar situation for youth unemployment, where in April Greece scored the highest rate (38.8% in February), followed by Spain (32.7%) and Italy (31.4%). Inflation drops to 1.2% in May
Inflation on an annual basis in the Eurozone drops to 1.2% in May 2019 compared to 1.7% in April, according to the Eurostat flash estimate. Looking at the main components, it is expected that energy will have the greatest impact (3.8% compared to 5.3% in April), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (1.6%, compared to 1 , 5% in April), services (1.1% compared to 1.9% in April) and non-energy industrial goods (0.3%, compared to 0.2% in April).
