The PMC reported the transfer of prisoners from the non-residential tower "Butyrki"

The executive secretary of the Moscow Public Monitoring Commission, Ivan Melnikov, said that prisoners from the uninhabited tower of the Butyrka detention center were transferred to another cell.

“The management of the pre-trial detention center informed me that the prisoners were transferred from the tower and are now being held in ordinary cells,” Interfax quoted him as saying.

Earlier, a representative of the Moscow department of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), Sergei Tsygankov, said that the transfer of Butyrka prisoners to a non-residential tower was caused by exceeding the prison limit and repairing the cells.

In an interview with the NSN, Melnikov commented on the transfer of prisoners from the Moscow Butyrka detention center to a non-residential tower.
