The court returned the case of Kirill Serebrennikov to the prosecutor

The Meshchansky court of Moscow returned to the General Prosecutor's Office a criminal case about embezzlement of budget funds in respect of the director Kirill Serebrennikov.

“The court ruled: to return the case to the prosecutor in connection with the contradictions that prevent him from being examined on the merits and sentencing,” RIA Novosti quotes the decision of Judge Irina Akkuratova.

During a court hearing on September 11, the judge proposed that the case of director Serebrennikov accused of embezzlement in connection with violations be returned to the prosecutor.

The prosecution was against.

According to investigators, Serebrennikov, as well as producers Alexei Malobrodsky and Yuri Itin, stole 133 of the 214 million rubles allocated by the Seventh Studio in 2011-2014 to develop and popularize contemporary Russian art in the framework of the Platform project.
