Ryabkov commented on Bolton's resignation
Russia has no expectation of a reshuffle as national security assistant to the US president, from whom John Bolton was fired on September 10. This was told by the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Ryabkov.
“We cannot give any estimates to this event, because this is purely an internal affair of the USA. We have repeatedly observed in the past that certain permutations within the administration do not lead either to an improvement in relations or to their normalization contrary to statements made by senior representatives of the same administration, ”he told RIA Novosti.
The deputy minister added that Moscow continues to judge by cases, not statements and intentions.
“When we see some shifts in the future, then, probably, it will be possible to say that something has changed. But I repeat that this is not an element of the personification of American foreign policy, ”Ryabkov emphasized.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that he had dismissed Bolton.
The American leader explained the decision by the fact that he did not agree with many of his proposals.
