The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has launched the first phase of the distribution of relief aid, targeting 150,000 people, in order to stand by the brothers in Sudan, to reduce the effects of the natural disaster, and to help those affected by the floods and floods that hit the country.

This comes in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Presidential Affairs Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation's humanitarian team has begun distributing relief and shelter tents in flood-affected areas in four states: Khartoum, Al Jazeera, White Nile and Sennar. The number of beneficiaries in the four states is expected to reach 30,000 Sudanese families, or about 150 A thousand people, some of whom lost all the elements of life by the collapse of their homes and the destruction of their crops and the death of their livestock.

The first phase included the Jili Woodramli areas in Bahri locality in Khartoum state. 4,000 food parcels were distributed, including many important food items, and 400 tents were distributed to accommodate those who lost their homes.

The Foundation's team directly supervised the distribution of food parcels and helped set up some tents for those affected in the Jili and Woodramli areas.

For his part, the Deputy Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid in Sudan, Dr. Mohammed Fadlallah, praised the UAE for its continuous contribution and support to his country in preventing natural disasters and assisting the affected people all over Sudan, pointing to the speed of the arrival of the delegation of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for humanitarian work to their country Second, Sudan, and we started working together to reduce the consequences of this natural disaster, which we have not seen before.

He added that his country was hit by an unprecedented natural disaster due to floods and floods that exceeded its previous counterparts, pointing out that there were completely destroyed villages, such as Wadramli north of Khartoum, in addition to several villages in the state of «White Nile» south of Khartoum, pointing out that the island « In the northern state, the largest island in the Nile, threatened with drowning.

On the other hand, the Sudanese government and the armed movements in Juba agreed to release the detainees and prisoners of war. Spokesman for the Sovereignty Council Mohammed al-Faki Suleiman said in a press statement that the Sovereignty Council pledged to the armed movements to release prisoners, drop criminal sanctions and open humanitarian corridors to provide assistance to those affected in war zones.

Later yesterday, the signing ceremony for the Declaration of Principles was held between the Sudanese Sovereign Council and the Revolutionary Front in Juba.

Two days ago, the Sovereignty Council and a group of armed movements were in talks in Juba, the capital of South Sudan, to reach a peace agreement in Sudan.

The armed movements participating in the talks with the Sovereignty Council include: the Popular Movement led by Abdulaziz Al-Helu, the Revolutionary Front Alliance (SLM led by Mona Arko Minawi, the SPLM-North led by Malik Aqar, and the Justice and Equality Movement led by Jibril Ibrahim).
