Protesters with tractors and cows filled the street outside the town hall in Vänersborg where the regional council met on September 22, 2015. On that day, it was decided to close three natural gymnasiums. Dingle, Strömma and Nuntorp.

The day also became a launching point for local commitment to keeping schools alive.

A regional meeting place

"It was the pressure that was when the school disappeared, that we have to do something about it," says Roger Sprängare, chairman of the Green Cluster Nuntorp.

After the last pupils left the school in June 2017, the Brålanda Företagarförening started a feasibility study that resulted in the formation of the Green Cluster. The goal was to create a regional meeting place, with a focus on education, for those working in green industries.

The last piece of the puzzle was when the high school reopened in August.
