She grew up in Luleå and was politically active in the municipality of Luleå from 1991 to 1999 and a member of the local council from 1994. In 1995 she was elected as a member of parliament for the Social Democrats and was, among other things, an alternate member of the Team Committee.

In 1992, she was elected as the first female chairman of SSU Norrbotten.

In 2004, Eva Nordmark had left the party policy and was elected as the union chairman of the trade union SKTF (Today Vision).

"Riding on a lot of bangs in politics"

In an interview SVT did with Eva Nordmark in 2004, she commented on her experience of party politics as follows:

- I have been riding a lot of bangs in politics and I am grateful for it because it has taught me a lot. It's tough to be a politician.

In 2011 Eva Nordmark was elected chairman of TCO. She is a member of the board of Luleå University of Technology and has been a member of the Reinfeldts Future Commission of the Government, among others.
