“To select a measure of restraint in respect of Alexei Ananyev in the form of detention for a period of two months,” the judge said.
According to the agency, the arrest will take effect if Ananyev is extradited to Russia from abroad or detained in Russia.
The court made the same decision with regard to Dmitry Ananyev.
The investigator during the meeting said that the Ananievs, as part of an organized group, were wasting property worth more than 66 billion rubles and $ 575 million in favor of Promsvyazkapital, the ultimate beneficiary of which is Alexei Ananyev.
Earlier, the UK asked in absentia to issue a sanction for the arrest of the Ananyevs.
As the investigator noted at the court session, the brothers Alexei and Dmitry Ananyev were put on the international wanted list on charges of embezzlement.
